Mealy and Tasteless

Who decided that Red Delicious "apples" should qualify as food? Blech. There isn't any application I'd use these mealy, tasteless things for. "Very good" indeed. Feh!

I…umm…happen to like red delicious apples. (Ducks.)

To be fair, only 4 of their 19 apples got anything less than “very good,” so I don’t know that they had the most exacting standards. Those crappy golden delicious apples also got “very good,” which is a clear indication that the reviewer was on crack.

Rachel, that’s me throwing Red Delicious apples in your direction.

I’ve always believed that the success of the Red Delicious was due entirely to good marketing. If they were named anything else, no one would buy them. They’re mushy and flavorless. Yuck.

Yes, I’m guessing the name “Red Mealy and Flavorless” didn’t test as well.
