Idiocracy (2006) somehow managed to receive the type of reviews that pan the movie, but suggest that the movie has redeeming qualities discussing social issues or something. I didn't see the redeeming qualities. I would have been angrier about watching this movie if I hadn't watched it on the train.

2:00: Jack Bauer is like a lost puppy without something to do and not being allowed to help. You know how he could maybe use this time well? By taking a nap!!! Dude must be zonked.
-Do they have Nadia give these pep talks in the locker room when they have time, or just when they need filler in the show.
-I thought they said something about all the C.T.U. teams getting nuked when the bomb went off. Apparently there are extra tactical teams.
2:07: Are they attacking C.T.U?
2:13: I know what Josh is doing right here. It’s hard to stop watching the news when your dad had a main role in a nuclear attack on US soil that killed 12K Americans. I mean, not that that’s ever happened to me.
2:14: Man, Lisa Miller is a terrible actress when she’s acting while acting. She’s going to get caught.
-Why does Tom Lennox have to go out into the field and sit in a van.
2:18: This scene between Marilyn and Jack Bauer is kind of painful.
-Am I exhausted or is this episode wicked slow tonight?
2:20: Oh, this could get pretty exciting. Except, it seems like there’s going to be a classic C.T.U. surrounding the building and closing in and OH NO, there’s no one there!
-Wow, how easy was that to call? It’s not like they’ve reused this idea before in the series, I think they’ve done this already this year.
-Are the Chinese going after Morris?
2:22: It was nice that the Chinese left all of their weapons crates neatly in a pile.
-Chang has confirmed they’re attacking C.T.U. Another recycled plot line.
-You know in a baseball game when it’s 19-1 and the losing manager starts letting the outfielder’s pitch and it’s clear he’s just trying to get to the end of the game with as little damage to his bullpen as possible? It seems like the writers for “24” have just totally given up at this point and they’re reusing storylines because they know they just need to get to the end of the season. I’m not sure it’s working, though.
2:28: I’m tired of Morris and Chloe, too.
-Tom Lennox is great. He’s going to set up a scene where Noah the VP has to watch Lisa Miller humping a traitor.
-But really. Why is Tom Lennox in the field?
-Here’s the thing, if Lisa Miller fails, can’t they just work the same deal on her boyfriend and try to get him to flip?
-Tom Lennox is thinking that this is the best hour of his career – getting to watch a hot blonde have sex.
-Lisa is feeling consternation because she knows that she’s about to have sex on camera and it will undoubtedly get leaked to the internet.
2:39: I just can’t wait for this episode to be over.
-Maybe they’re looking for Chloe this time.
-How come China was able to hack into the security of C.T.U. so easily.
-Milo is like a little girl the way he gets so emotional.
2:42: Seems like it was really easy for C.T.U. to be totally taken over. I never understand how come they trust their security to rent a cops. Why don’t they get the secret service or military to guard them?
-I think Jack Bauer is probably going to kill a lot of people.

-This Chinese tactical team has no idea exactly what they’ve gotten themselves into. Jack Bauer is going to enjoy killing them.
-Yup, it was pretty obvious Milo was going to get shot when he volunteered he was in charge. That was a crazy plot twist when I saw that for the first time in Die Hard about 20 years ago.
2:50: JBKC: 35 and 36 (Chinese Baddie)
-Oh, Jeeze, Josh Bauer is the computer chip expert who can fix things? Or Jack Bauer’s dad is? Who the hell even knows what’s happening anymore.
-How come Jack Bauer just stuck his machine gun into the fan? That’s going to be a problem for him.
-Oh, it’s a problem, RIGHT NOW.
-If the bad guy is going to kill everyone there starting with Nadia, what does she care if he kills everyone else? I mean, she’ll be dead, she probably won’t feel guilty when she’s dead.
-Don’t Nadia and Mike have some sort of warning word to use if C.T.U. has been taken over? I mean with security as lax as this, C.T.U. is probably taken over or bombed every other week and the agents ought to be trained to communicate in situations like this.
2:55: Josh Bauer is having the word day of his life.
-And it’s about to get even worse.
-Haha. I like how they flip back to Noah watching Lisa have sex with the traitor.
-Oh whatever. Jack Bauer’s dad is fixing the chip for the Chinese. Since when did he become a chip expert and why does he want Josh Bauer back anyway.

It was hard to figure whether Ben Affleck was acting woodenly or whether he couldn't help it. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and imagine George Reeves was always wooden. Pretty interesting look at several different theories surrounding George Reeves' death.

You expect a movie like this to be completely terrible, so when it's not, it's a pleasant surprise. I'd suggest not watching them movie all the way to the end and just assuming everything works out. That way you won't have to see the ridiculous evidence he end of the movie hinges on.

The action version of Ground Hog's Day. Well, not really, but that's the type of preconceived notions you're going to get when you call your movie, De Ja Vu. Overall enjoyable and generally suspenseful.

Saw the Buddy Cianci movie last night at, appropriately enough, the Providence Place Mall. While I don't think it was a particularly good film, it told a very interesting story. I don't know how interesting it would be to someone who doesn't live in Providence, and I imagine that watching the movie with a theater full of Providence folks (Providencians?) adds significantly to the experience. My two companions left the movie with more sympathy for Buddy than when they went in.
