		<description>Wow, I actually find this really surprising. I'm not sure what he gains from this. Well, I mean, I guess I totally see that he's trying to prove himself as a "real" conservative, but I feel as though he does it at the expense of his reputation as a principled maverick -- and that's the reputation he rode to the nomination.

Of course, you note that I don't in any way assume his comments are based on what he actually believes. When it comes to that, I guess I have no idea.</description>
