The Government Wants To Do What?
I propose that this sentence in the Washington Post is a strong argument for the use of the serial comma:
Assuming that you work, worship, vote, parent, own property the government might covet or occasionally have sex, the high court will intimately affect your life.

As a defiant lover of the serial comma in all things, I laughed out loud at this.
I just wish we could go back to a time where we didn’t have the government that might occasionally covet having sex with my property.
Nothing makes me chuckle harder than punctuation humor. Seriously.
