Pat Metheny on Kenny G

Pat Metheny doesn't like Kenny G. At all. The 11th paragraph is where the real evisceration begins - "Lame-ass, jive, pseudo bluesy, out-of-tune, noodling, wimped out, fucked up playing." This entire essay might just be one of the better character assassinations of all time, certainly top 3 in the music world.

Boston Bikeshare?

Looks like Boston is taking baby steps towards joining Washington, DC,
Paris, Barcelona, etc, etc, etc in cities with a Bike Share program. The programs in Paris and Washington, DC are public/private partnerships that trade city-owned advertising space for bikes and administration of the program. In fact, the program in Paris looks like it will be a windfall for the corporate-side of the partnership, turning a profit within 2-3 years of investment. Cities should be careful not to give away the farm, apparently.

Yes, let's do this. This sounds good.

(New York is also taking baby steps as well.)

Reservation Road (2007)

Reservation Road causes me to introduce a new tag, "When good actors go bad", to describe the result of good actors in a shit ass movie. Don't see this, ever, for any reason.

Requiem for an Assassin by Barry Eisler

Has Barry Eisler started a new titular pattern with Requiem for an Assassin, replacing "Assassin" with "Rain"? We won't know until his next book comes out. The most psychological of the series as Rain struggles with the one person who could be his greatest foe - himself.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

I don't want to feel guilty about enjoying every movie from the Judd Apatow mafia, but I do anyway. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is no different. The Dracula puppet rock opera was a particularly nice touch.

3:10 to Yuma (2007)

I liked 3:10 to Yuma. In certain roles, Russell Crowe is very good and this is one of those roles. There's a lot 'unsaid' in this movie, which is, as usual, very refreshing.

Sex and the City (2008)

I just don't want this to happen again.

Zoomii.com

Zoomii.com is just an amazing way to buy books online. I'm surprised I haven't seen anything like this before. Maybe others have tried it, but didn't execute so well?

Simply (?!) Breakfast

This site makes me envious, sad, angry, and hungry, kind of all at once. Who has time and energy enough in the morning not only to think of a different delicious-looking breakfast every day, but to also compose a beautiful photo of it? Most mornings for me involve either a hasty bowl of cereal or a granola bar on my way out the door. What I wouldn't give to be able to make what appears to be an omelet with sundried tomatoes and mozzarella in the morning! Or an egg and bacon sandwich on real bread!

Does anyone have any advice on how to turn oneself from a night person into a morning person?

Case in point.

Great white shark washes up on Nantucket. Look, I don't want to beat a dead shark, and this one was little, but if all you sharks could stay in other areas, I'd appreciate it. kthxbi.
