Speed Cameras

Speed cameras have the ability to generate incredible amounts of revenue for towns and cities. Because locals generally know the cameras are there, the fines act efficiently as a tax on outsiders. Which, in my mind is a good way to build swimming pools and ice rinks. The article has everything, even Godwin's Law. It says that has been an increase in cars being rear ended, but a significant decrease in cars being T-Boned, which are usually more harmful to the drivers. One thing I didn't realize is that the standard set up for these cameras is a revenue sharing partnership between the town and the corporations that supply the camera and process the citations.
No word on if these teens were busted by cameras, but they are really entitled!
