I tried my best to capture the Boston area papering. I definitely dug the experience. Central Square seemed to be the only area that got graffitied over but he posted on a well used graffiti wall. It looked like he chose material that would blend with the local artists. The other areas remained un-touched as far as I could tell.

His work in Central Square (went up when all the other stuff around town did) was graffitied over within a day. At first I thought that was very cool. Then I wondered if it was part of the plan to begin with.

Thanks for the comment. I checked out the link. The second link seemed to be a regurgitation of the facts from the first. Overall, I wish the source had been different than "The premiere online venue for contemporary art" because describing yourself as premiere is pretentious as fuck. Also, the main complaint is that Shepard Fairy is a street artist that doesn't respect copyright unless it's his copyright, which is hypocritical, but forcing people who steal your work to give their profits to the ACLU and paying people whose copyrights you've infringed upon just isn't that big of a deal.

Now, maybe he's a sell out for asking permission to use the Obama image, but I probably would have done the same thing.

What do you think?
