It might be just me, but I really struggled through the first 125-odd pages of this book until Lincoln got elected (sorry for the spoiler. He dies at the end. Damn it, again!). Kearns has obviously written the book from the perspective that Lincoln always made the right decision, and thus didn't include any decisions he got wrong. That said, Lincoln sure seemed to make a hell of a lot of decisions correctly.
Adam has some good ideas to save newspapers (specifically the Boston Globe) in this post in which he says he hasn't bought a newspaper in 5 years, which made me wonder the last time I bought a newspaper. I can't remember. It seems impossible that I never have, but I also can't ever remember a reason why I would have. FWIW, I slung a Globe delivery bag over my shoulder for three years (except on Sundays when Pops helped).
I'm not going to embed this video, but here's the link to the Naked wizard being tasered at Coachella. I don't think the guy is actually a wizard, though. You make the call. Be forewarned, there's a very naked guy in this video who thinks he is a wizard.
My buddy Jason ran the Boston Marathon dressed as an iPhone to create awareness for his iPhone app RunKeeper. He finished in just around 4 hours, has plantar fasciitis, and didn't do much training. Seems like a win to me.
Edited to add a comment to video I saw somewhere (can't remember where), "Finally an app that runs."
In the Esquire article about Roger Ebert a few weeks back, Ebert mentioned his interview interview with Lee Marvin as one of his favorites, and now they've republished it online.
