Mad Men Season 3 Episode 2 Recap
Aside from AMC having trouble transitioning smoothly to commercials, I didn't feel passionately one way or another about tonight's episode. It felt as though they're still setting up the story for the season, though maybe it will be clearer next week.
-Was Don sleeping with the hippie may pole dance instructor through the grass, or was he just channeling nature? The several shots of her imply she'll be a part of something coming up, but who knows?
-Towards the end of last season (starting maybe with the popsicle episode (you know, the one where the art had the mom handing out popsicles looking like Jesus)) Peggy has been acting more and more like Draper. It's unclear if her fling was an attempt to embrace her womanhood or just something she does we didn't know about. Her insistence that her beau wear a condom was unDraperly, though. He never cares about consequences. Her chafing at Patio's vision of an ad was vintage Don. His advice that she 'keep some tools in her toolbox' I think said he knows the Ann-Margaret idea won't work and they'll have to try something new anyway. Or it could have been a new way to say choose your battles.
-Roger's story line isn't that interesting.
-Seems like Putnam, Powell, & Lowe is concerned with the appearance of working on the MSG account. The whole run around with the head of MSG was to show the differences of a US firm and a British firm.

I also found this to be less than wonderful. If you’d like to watch Paul Rudd being funny, watch “Wet Hot American Summer” instead.
Yeah this show was a little dull for me and that hippie scene was just weird, this show throws me off so much and I think I like it.
