I got quite excited when I read that Huffington post interview. Simmons has become the most popular sports columnist in America and probably the world. He could start a website with a very large fan base right now and I think his contract with ESPN runs out either next year or 2011. I'd be surprised if he renewed, what with all the run-ins he's had with ESPN.
I don't think those three would do anything together, just a gut feeling. It would be interesting to see whether the clique of Carolla, Simmons and Dave Dameshek (whose contract with ESPN ran out recently) could do if they somehow joined forces.
