I spent 15 minutes looking for this scene from 'Groundhog Day' so that we could all enjoy Ned Ryerson together! Now I'm gonna have to go watch it again. "Don't drive angry" is another classic scene, amirite?

Both of these moves were awful, and I'm offended Marvel hasn't put any effort into their best character. Also, I don't think having these movies made means they can't; there could always be a Hulk-style do over. War Zone was better, and I have no idea what John Travolta or Dominic West were doing near either of these projects.

Steve Carell shouldn't make movies like this because they're bad and they tarnish his image. I think I remember laughing, but not very much and not very hard. Every movie that Jason Stratham is in is the same (you could say the same for every Guy Ritchie movie, too). That said, this one had a more far fetched and interesting premise and I wasn't disappointed. Give it a shot. ###Possibly related posts:War, Inc. Sort of like the Christopher Guest movies, but not billed as a documentary. If you liked Napoleon Dynamite, you might like this, but it's more annoying. This was fun, but not very original. Danny McBride's character slays as an invincible and disloyal associate. Nic Cage can see 2 minutes into the future, which is about all you need to know about this movie. I thought for a second they were going to use the clever device of him looking into the future to move along the story, and then they didn't, but points for almost. The movie would have been better if it had ended about 90 seconds earlier than it did.

This wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. There's a lot in here which will likely touch people in a way that makes them list it as on of their favorite movies on Facebook and I will think poorly of them for that. I like Paul Rudd, but I'm not sure this was his best work. It's a sort of funny premise, I guess, well, no, it's not. I had no idea there was going to be a remake of 'Red Dawn' starring Tom Cruise's son. Aside from the usual, 'If you've seen one Woody Allen movie...' this move also had the, 'If you've seen one movie about a crazy love triangle' thing. As far as movies with the word Barcelona in the title, I like Barcelona better than Vicky Cristina Barcelona. On the other hand, this one was much prettier to watch.

You know what you're getting when you watch a movie like this. It wasn't spectacular, but it was watchable, enjoyable even, in a Spy Games kind of way. I discovered two trailers today I'm excited for. One for the new Coen Bros movie, A Serious Man. And one for the new Wes Anderson movie, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Both look like they need watching in a theater with popcorn.

I have no doubt that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a terrible, terrible movie. However, I have a number of bones to pick with Christopher Orr's review in The New Republic.

One! "Autobot" and "Decepticon" are proper nouns, and should be capitalized.

Two! Before you start mocking "The Matrix of Leadership," perhaps you'd best sit down and watch the best movie ever made.

Three! "The movie opens with an extended monologue by chief autobot (that is, good robot) Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen, heretofore best known as the voice of Eeyore in countless Pooh cartoons)"? I think you mean, "Peter Cullen, heretofore best known as the voice of Optimus goddamn Prime."

Documentary About Arrested Development

It's been only a few months since the last time I breathlessly reported on the health of the Arrested Development feature length film. I did a double take when I saw a post on Kottke about an Arrested Development documentary. A movie about the show, but not the movie of the show. Here's the trailer.

The website for the documentary is also kind of a trip.

I'm not going to review a Will Smith movie without noting my affection for him, so get that out of your head, but this was a dud. If you've seen Memento and any movie where someone is trying to do something to repent for something, you don't really need to see Seven Pounds. If this movie was starring anyone else, it would be one star less.

Lots of people don't like this movie, but it's Coen Brothers, and I can't help feeling that it was at least average. I think the people who don't like it have forgotten what a Coen Brothers movie is. Watching a movie like this makes me realize I watch a lot of crappy movies. I didn't even think it was a good 'good' movie and it blows away most of the dreck I give 3 stars.
