M. Night Shyamalan’s New Deal

M. Night Shyamalan's movies have been going steadily downhill (with the exception of Signs), since, well, his first movie, so Hollywood rewards him with a potentially lucrative deal to make more movies.

The Happening (2008)

I don't know what's happened to M. Night Shyamalan, but The Happening was an awful, awful, awful, awful, awful (5 awfuls!!!) movie. Bad acting, bad writing, just bad. I'd give this movie 0 stars if it wouldn't look like I had forgotten to rate it.

Iron Man (2008)

Maybe it was me (or my ability to like crappy movies, rather), but I really enjoyed this Iron Man. Excellent pacing, casting, acting, story, action... Watch it.

21 (2008)

What a waste. 21 was super campy in horrible ways. I loved the book and wanted this movie to be great, and it could have been, it just wasn't.

Enchanted – 2007

My wife has good movie taste, and normally I wouldn't make this about her, but the blame for this movie getting on our Netflix rests entirely with her. Remember how interminable the music numbers at the Academy Awards were? Yeah, this entire piece of shit was interminable, too.
