You know how it sounds like Michael Jackson is making up works in Wanna Be Startin Something when he's all, "Ma ma se, ma ma sa, ma ma coo sa"? Turns out the song is inspired by Manu Dibango's Soul Makossa. MJ didn't credit Dibango originally, but worked it out with him financially a bit later.

I wasn't going to post the Ron Artest Michael Jackson Tribute video below, even though it's pretty awesome. But then I found out, from Dave, that Ron Artest chose his new number with the Lakers, 37, because that's how many weeks Thriller was #1. And then I had to share it.
The only way to think about the Liberian Girl video is that there's never been a star with more pull than Michael Jackson. Liberian Girl is a single that wasn't even released in the US and he was able to wrangle the group below to appear in the video. These are the kings and queens of the mid-eighties!

Some of the items in this Michael Jackson auction are horribly undervalued and people are going to get amazing things for a song. I hope I'm one of those people and my wife hopes I am not. I guess the market is the market and what people are willing to pay is the actual value, but this is happening all over now from material goods to homes to companies on the stock market. And now remnants of Michael Jackson's life.
