You know, sing along to the tune of "Video Killed the Radio Star". Lone Star Ball makes the case that the premise of several Seinfeld episodes wouldn't work today. The existence of cell phones reduces the number of loony situations any one group of friends can get into. While I'd argue that 2 of the situations ('The Bubble Boy' and 'The Parking Garage') would still happen because of poor cell phone reception, I get the greater point. And while I don't necessarily agree, it's certainly a conversation starter.

One other thought on this subject, I'd swear I heard a Bill Simmons podcast a couple days ago where he mentioned the idea that Seinfeld wouldn't exist if cell phones did. I'd be surprised if that Simmons line didn't inspire the Lone Star Ball post.
